There is no starvation and suffering and this world would be a beautiful place to live. We all celebrate Remembrance Day to pay tribute to the great soldiers and the great warriors who sacrificed their life for the country. It’s a day to fondly remember those special men and women who lived for the country and died to protect it from the enemies. We have all the luxuries in life and we celebrate every occasion with great fervor and joy. We should thank all those brave hearts from the bottom of our hearts that never cared about their own families to protect our loved ones from danger.
I wish that no one would fight with each other and the whole world becomes one family.
Remembrance Day is an integral part of the modern British life. People observe two minutes silence to pay homage to the martyrs of the war. Poppy is used as the symbol for the Remembrance Day. It was used as the Remembrance Day symbol shortly after the First World War. When the Canadian Doctor Lt. Col. Mc. Crae saw the poppy field at the place where war was held and he wrote poetry for a friend who lost his life in the world war. His poem was very famous and it was called as the Flanders’s field. So after this Poppy Flower was used as the symbol for the Remembrance Day. Very aptly said by Antonio Porchia that, “One lives in the hope of becoming a memory.”
The First World War was held during 1914-1918. And the war held in Western Europe. A beautiful landscape turned into the battlefield. The land became very dry and then nothing grew in that field. After some time the red colored flowers of Poopy which were so delicate and were bright red in color grew in that barren land and they somehow managed to flourish in that battlefield. Lt. Col. John McCrae lost his friend in the war and he was so much impressed by the view that he wrote the famous poem on these bright red flowers called as Inflander’s Field.
Inspired by the poem the renowned academic from America planted and grow the red poppies which were brought to the country by English women. And slowly the appeal of poppy became very famous and after some time the flowers were sold on the Remembrance Day and remarkable sell was observed. The money collected was used to help the World war affected people. They were provided with housing and employment with the money collected by selling the Poppy flower. And that how, the Poppy became the symbolic flower of Remembrance Day IN FLANDERS FIELDS
In Flanders’ fields the poppies blow
That mark our place: and in the sky,
Between the crosses, row on row,
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
I wish there are no wars and no one get hurts in the wars if they happen in the near future.
RemembranceDay Sunday which will fall on 13th November 2016 will be celebrated as the National Remembrance Day and all the people will pay tribute to the brave soldiers who laid their lives to protect their country. People observe silence for the Remembrance Day on the eleventh hour of the eleventh month of the eleventh day. 11 November is also marked as the day when the First World War was ended. And that is the day when people pay homage to the men and women who fought for the country in spite of knowing the fact that they may not return home again. The men and women, volunteered as the soldiers to fight for the country and the risked their lives. Many of them were killed and never came back home. This day is celebrated to fondly remember them and pay respect to the brave hearts and also pray to God that wars never happen.
There are almost 100, 00 memorial in the UK in many of the fields and other places. The Remembrance Day memorials are there to never forget the sacrifices the brave men and women made for the country. There is also a physical memorial which means that the database is there with the names of those who fought for the nation. All those who want to donate for the well-being of the brave hearts and their family can do so with the help of the information available with this physical memorial. This is a good way to fondly remember the great souls. I wish No one would die.
The proper greeting for the Remembrance Day is not Happy Remembrance Day but people should greet each other with ‘HONOR REMEMBERANCE DAY’. Since it’s not the happy occasion but a proud one to remember the great souls who sacrificed their life for their nation and their fellow countrymen. It is because of their courage that the other families are having a proper and luxurious life. A big salutes those great souls. We must all wish to have peace in the world and no more wars to be held. There are other major issues in the world to be solved and the world would definitely be a better place to live if all unite.
It has been said, ‘time heals all wounds.’ I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone.” It is very well said by Rose Kennedy. The Remembrance Day is a great day to celebrate bravery at its peak and also to pray to God that these wars should never happen and the world would be a better place to live. We all should live with love and peace and develop as a united world. The world where there is no suffering, no one is poor and starving and all of us are one big happy family.
